The zone principle
We’re often asked how to choose the right mat for a specific entrance. The simplest way to answer this is by zoning your entrance:
- Zone 1: This is where heavy debris is removed. Ideally, 40% of dirt and moisture should be cleared within the first 1.5 meters. It's most effective when positioned outside the entrance
- Zone 2: Here, fine debris and moisture are scraped and wiped off shoes. Approximately 20% is removed in this zone.
- Zone 3: Additional wiping mats in this area complete the drying process, typically within about 5 metres.
